Leo Maki has been in the automotive industry for 22 years and an IADA member for the past six. Mr. Maki attended Northern Michigan University for Automotive Technology, took electronics training at ITT Tech, has his certification from Insurance Technical–Educational Consultants in Residential Building Appraisal and his Injury Science Certification for black box technology.
Mr. Maki has served as the I-Car State of Michigan Chairman for 10 years and is a recipient of the I-Car Founders Award.
Mr. Maki's company, Michigan Appraisal Company, offers physical damage services for the following categories: Automobile, Tractor-Trailer, Marine, Heavy Equipment, Motorcycles, Recreational Vehicles, Snowmobiles, Classic & Antique vehicles, Farm Implements and Light Property. They also offer reading of vehicle black boxes. Basically, "If you can Crash, Steal, Sink or Burn it, we can look at it." His favorite part of the job? "Knowing that we have the ability & knowledge to properly handle the claims assigned to us no matter how challenging."
Mr. Maki and his wife, Julie, have been married for 24 years and have two children, Kelsey and Abby. Mr. Maki is a member of The American Boat & Yacht Council and enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, watching football & spending time in the woods.
